Are you getting dressed up more lately?
This past week alone, I dressed my clients for a gala, bat mitzvah, bar mitzvah, luncheon, speaking engagement, wedding (guest), dinner party, board meeting, multiple weekend trips, conference, art gallery opening, and packed someone for a trip overseas. Schedules are back in full swing, which means dressing up is, too.
Though dress codes are shifting - I was recently at an event that called for creative cocktail, which led to receiving many befuddled text message inquiries - it’s still cause to break out your sartorial treasures or add new styles to spruce up your collection.
According to McKinsey and The Business of Fashion’s collaborative State of Fashion 2022 report, the wardrobe reboot that’s occurring is leading many to think differently and with an open mind about what will be worn.
“Looking ahead, there will likely be increased appetite for experimentation and self-expression as consumers seek out more playful and energetic ways of dressing, boosting demand for novel designs, more adventurous colourways and creative pairings across categories in 2022.”
The report goes on to share, according to Lyst.com, an uptick in searches (compared to the height of the pandemic): a dramatic spike in “occasion dresses” and a nearly double increase in page views for “heels.”
So tell me, what are you wearing for your next event?

The Perfect Pair of Summer Heels
Why are you still wearing uncomfortable shoes? I led a seminar for a non-profit recently and we discussed easy tactics to rework your wardrobe. Prompting the question… why are you still holding on to shoes that hurt your feet?
You may already hear me talk about Sarah Flint, but that’s for a very good reason. The shoes are exceedingly comfortable - insert anatomical arch support, expanded toe box, and additional padding in the toe boxes.
They’re made in the same factories (by the same artisans) as Hermès, Christian Louboutin, and Manolo Blahnik shoes. They’re twice as comfortable and half the price. My go-to’s are the Perfect Pump 85 and the Perfect Block Sandal 60 - they’re classics and go with everything. Look out for the various heights in the pumps and block heel sandals and find your right fit. Take your normal size. Shipping and returns (within 21 days) are super seamless.

*Disclosure: I’m a brand ambassador and receive gifting from this brand at no cost to you. I fully support Sarah Flint and their products - and wear the shoes religiously - so I stand by endorsing them to you and my clients.
