Yesterday, I was getting my routine hair cut and color.
I go in every five weeks and am in the process of growing my hair somewhat long. Over the past three years, since my pixie days, this regrowth has been (literally) in the hands of Aimee, a phenomenally talented stylist. The relationship I have with Aimee is quite similar to the one I have with clients.
How, you might ask? Here are two great (and short) stories of Aimee taking the lead with her expertise and why I value her and it… they illustrate knowing when to be the expert, when to let the expert lead, how to understand a client, and the sweet spot on when to gently nudge back on a client’s preference or comfort zone.

☀️ That Summer Glow
When was your last facial?
Mine was Friday. And my husband Mark went in this past Saturday morning. His first facial. He loved it and is going to get one monthly now. Facials are for everyone.
Whatever your frequency and preferences, The Only Facial, delivers the ingredients to generate a glow year-round. I am a sunscreen fanatic, especially on my face, but the sun can inevitably break through and give me a little color throughout the summer months. I want to ensure that my skin is in extra great shape in this extreme season, and that’s where The Only Facial comes in.
The Only Facial currently operates three locations in Saint Louis: Clayton, University City, and Des Peres.

🧳 Outfit Itinerary
Travel season is in full swing! That means packing your luggage before enjoying the pure bliss of vacation. Understandably, thinking about what to wear on your trip can be such a hurdle (often stressful), which is why creating an outfit itinerary is as important as your travel itinerary. This will make your life in a new locale much more pleasurable.
I’m heading north and east in the coming weeks. So to make my life easier, I put together my outfit itinerary based on the wedding activities we’re attending in Wisconsin and the chill friend trip following that in the Hamptons.
Below are fully styled looks, based on dates/itinerary, for my upcoming trip. This is my actual closet (some photos are from sites of items I purchased recently, and others are photos of flatlay items already in my wardrobe). All I have to do is look at this and put all of these items pictured right into my luggage — the same goes for getting dressed when I wake up each day while away. I’m checking a bag for this one, but I usually do a carry-on.
This outfit itinerary, aka lookbook, is digitized on the closet portal that all of my clients closet’s are hosted on — dubbed “Closet in the Cloud.” Your life is much easier when you know what you’re wearing on a trip. That way, you can enjoy every thoughtfully planned and spontaneous moment.
