Are you feeling overwhelmed this season? Even amid a new strain of COVID arising, life feels busier than it's been in a long time. Schedules have returned to a level of pre-pandemic activity. While a fully planned lineup and abundance of things to do is great news (hallelujah!), it's also a double edge sword.
Frequent conversations are cropping up with clients and friends around the hopes that travel and all-around busyness can be tempered. With shameless commentary on the hopes of cancellations and lackluster desire to fill up each weeknight with another to do.
Don't get me wrong, social interaction with friends and family has been my number one craving for almost two years, but jumping right back into it can lead to exhaustion and an empty cup.
Everyone looks to recharge and self-care in many forms. There's no right or wrong way. What matters is that you have methods that work for you. And that you're putting those methods into practice.
Go to the parties, the dinners, enjoy the trips, and see people you love. But make sure you fill up your cup before you start running on low or even empty. That way, you make the most of your togetherness at a tempo that works for you. Enjoy the season at your own pace!
"Generosity isn't saying yes to every request. It's helping when you can make a unique contribution. Generosity isn't sacrificing yourself for others. It's helping when it won't exhaust you—and when it energizes you." - Adam Grant
Dear…
The cheekiest, elegant, most playful chic paper around. Meet Dear Annabelle! Founded in 2019 by Marcie Pantzer (previously an editor at Town & Country), Dear Annabelle is a luxury paper and home goods brand for those who appreciate the art and soul of meaningful exchange.
Inspired by the love of handwritten notes (on naughty cards), watching her mother sell stationery as a young girl growing up in Saint Louis, and paying homage to her daughter (whom the brand is named after), Marcie and I spoke about designing paper goods, launching the business after 12 years out of the professional workforce (raising four kids with her husband), DA’s newest design iterations, and ideas for gifting this holiday season (for the hostess, give them place cards).
