Saturday Styles: Spring Refresh Pieces
Macrame flats, woven bags, slip-on slinky pants, shell necklaces + a new take on denim shirts.
Hi there! Welcome to Saturday Styles, your weekly guide to practical, relevant, and sleek product recommendations. Here are my top picks this week based on what I’ve been loving for my clients, my closet, and everyday upgrades.
**Spring shopping season is in full swing. This weekend’s Sat Styles isn’t a top ten list, but rather, a list of some of the most popular styles my clients are asking for/what I’m recommending on repeat, that’s relevant to current aesthetics. These are some of the top categories for my clients across the US who want to add both versatile core pieces and joyful winks in their accessories.

Oversized Denim Shirts
An oversized denim shirt works great to “finish” off a look. The volume on top contrasts with a tailored or slim silhouette below, creating a laid-back yet intentional look. Try pushing up the sleeves (or effortlessly roll/fold them, but not too perfectly) to show some wrist or layering with a classic tee base layer. Throw on a structured loafer or sleek sneaker, and keep it polished without trying too hard. You can also belt it at the waist to define shape or wear it open for an effortless vibe—either way, it adds edge and ease to your outfit and can act as a jacket in transitional weather. Wear this year-round with a turtleneck underneath, come fall.
Marant Etoile Okely Denim Overshirt ($495) - take standard size | Heidi Merrick Lisi Top Denim ($335) - size down (shown on me above) | AG Jeans Monaco patchwork denim shirt ($277) - take standard size
Not Your Average Flats
There’s an influx of flats again this season. They’re available in droves from basically all the footwear brands out there, trying to keep up with a cool-girl vibe. Reconsidering a classic ballerina or Mary Jane in a macrame, woven knit, or even a jelly will make a statement. Toss these on with dresses, matching sets, denim, and midi skirts. I’d personally style each of these with a barrel jean, cotton button-up with the sleeves shoved up and front tucked in, with a mismatched belt, and a small silk neck scarf tied like a bandana, and then transition them into summer while wearing a striped shirt/short matching set.
Larroudé Verona Macrame Flats ($315) - true to size | Reformation Britt Ballet Flat ($248) - true to size | Intentionally Blank Classy Jelly Flats ($54) - true to size
Woven Knock-Around Bags
No new category by any means, but woven bags always make their resurgence in the rotation right about now. While there are many great non-luxury bags in this category (already have that on my list for a future Sat Styles edit), I am getting a lot of requests for luxe raffia bags to finish off a look. These are both fun and functional, including features like top handles and crossbody straps so you can swap out how you want to carry them, + they hold the essentials. I like the juxtaposition of weave and leather together, which gives a bag like this more wearability (aka, dress it up with a cocktail dress or down with an oversized denim shirt and the silky pants below). If you’re going to spend at this price point, you want to make sure these cuties are amortized.
Bottega Veneta Parachute Small Shoulder Bag ($4,100) | Loewe Mini Pebble Raffia & Leather Bucket Bag ($2,250) | Marni Crossbody Bag ($895)
Slip-on Day to Night Pants
I have been living in pants like these lately (I personally own two of the three). I can’t tell you how thrilled I am to see an influx of this style on the market this season. But beware, not all are created equally. Here’s a good roundup of mixed pricing. Dress these up with blouses and knits, a slightly oversized cotton knit and chunky necklace, or with t-shirts and sneakers. They travel really well (basically wrinkle-resistant), and they’re all machine washable, too! Slip them on and go. I wear mine when I want to feel extra comfortable. The elastic waistbands make for ease in wear.
J.Crew Stratus Pant in Textured Satin ($148) - size down one size | Vince Fluid Satin Bias Pant ($368) - take standard size | Enza Costa Twill Everywhere Pant ($295) - take standard size
Statement Shell Necklaces
Statement shell necklaces are making a bold comeback this season, and I’m here for it, blending beachy sentiments with unexpected styling. Once reserved for resort travel and surf shops, these chunky, natural-inspired pieces are now front and center. Thankfully, in a much more compelling manner than my early 2000s puka choker. Whether layered over a crisp white shirt or paired with a minimal tank, shell necklaces add texture, interest, and a touch of wanderlust to any look. Break it out for special events or with a fun dress. Don’t reserve them solely for vacations. Consider it a conversational piece, too.
Brinker + Eliza Sirena Necklace ($218) - I’m wearing this below | Veronica Beard Nantucket Shell Necklace ($300) | Renata.Q Cardu Necklace ($295) - has adjustable loops for mixed length
